R&D begins on the first ever debit card product to be
sold in a retail store. The product is called “i-GEN” and is
targeted towards teens and internet users. |

The first “i-GEN” MasterCard card is sold on May
21st at a Rite Aid store in Loudoun County, Virginia. |
| 2002 |
Green Dot rolls out its debit card products nationwide with
the addition of all Rite Aid stores, CVS stores and Pantry Convenience
Stores. |

Retail distribution grows to over 18,000 retail
locations as the “i-GEN Card” changes its marketing to appeal to
adults and not teens. |

Company changes its brand name nationally to Green Dot.
Establishes the Green Dot Financial Network—the first ever
cash-acceptance network for the reloading of prepaid cards by any issuer. |

Green Dot creates a Payment Solutions Division and a Financial Services Division
with the unveiling of new Green Dot card programs for wireless carriers and financial services companies.
